    Poetry Writing      Writing poetry and writing about poetry feel like two very different processes that require very separate mindsets; however, they are extremely beneficial to each other. When I write a poem, I’m usually centering my writing on a particular feeling, image, event, or rhythm. There are also many times I don’t know exactly where it’s going. Writing about poetry, on the other hand, makes me slow down and look closely at how the words, structure, and rhythm are working to create an intended meaning.  It allows me to delve deeper into the explication process, understanding how the words and structure of the poem come together to create deeper meanings. This then allows me to create better work of my own, as I pay more attention to the impact and meaning of every part of the poem, from the words to the spacing in the lines.       Doing both at the same time helps highlight how much writing and writing about poetry ...
